Please note that from February 2012 the TM PO Box number and address is changing.

The new details to give out to your contacts on the air is:

PO Box 62

Albrighton

Wolverhampton

WV7 3WR

United Kingdom

Please start to use these these details as the old PO Box (170) is closing soon.

Any mail already on the way to the other box will still be collected as usual and forwarded in the same way it always has been but we need to move to the new number as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the PO Box number of the TM group changing?

We are having to make changes to the TM PO Box due to the increasing fees that Royal Mail are now charging for the services they provide to us as a group. Since 2010 PO Box fees have increased a staggering 80% in the space of just one year.  Even worse from April 2012 the government is also applying VAT on top of PO Box service fees making another price rise imminent at our next renewal date. With the current level of usage and the contributions received in our group we cannot afford to keep subsidising the cost of running the current PO Box number. Therefore we are partnering with another radio group and splitting the costs between us in order to ensure that the PO Box facility is sustainable now and in the foreseeable future. Royal Mail is really increasing the prices and we are not a business or a charity, therefore we have to find a solution that suits the group.

Does this mean that you are going to give my name and address to another person or hand our details over to a third party who will forward cards to us?

Absolutely not! This will NOT happen. All that is happening is a change of physical location. Any cards addessed to the TM group are simply forwarded up to us at the HQ and we then continue to seperate and forward cards onto those members who have joined the PO Box service as before. No databases are changing hands and everything operates in exactly the same way.

I’ve already sent out mail with the old QSL card address. Does this mean my post will be lost?

No, if you already have given out the old PO Box address then don’t worry, the mail will still arrive as we have a “grace” period but you should update your QSL package information as soon as possible to avoid any issues. Don’t forget to update any stickers, self addressed envelopes or web pages that feature your TM call and PO Box number!

Can I shorten the new address, it looks a little long?

The address shown above is the official one preffered by Royal Mail. However, it is acceptable to use the following and mail should still arrive:

PO Box 62, WV7 3WR, UK or Po Box 62, Whampton WV7 3WR.

Any further questions? Please feel free to contact us through the link provided on this website here. We will do our best to help and advise.

Easter DX Event

It’s that time of year again! This years Easter DX event will take place on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th April 2011!

As always these events have been very popular over the last few years and many operators have turned out on the hill tops to make long distance contacts. You don’t need to go mobile to enjoy the events but it helps! The main thing is taking part and being on the air.

27.555 MHz USB is the main 11m calling frequency and for those who prefer the FM side of things Channel 25 UK and 25 EU (CEPT) will be in use. On the PMR-446 side of things Channel 8 with no CTCSS is a good start for hill topping.

We hope that TM members will be active over the Easter Bank Holiday on the 24/25th April 2011 and we’ll be listening out for you. Don’t forget to register over at Transmission1 and also post your contacts up here at: http://www.transmission1.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18022

For further details please visit: http://www.delboyenterprises.co.uk/ – a very good website indeed!

Tango Mike DX Super Sunday Nov 2010Time to dust off the mobile rig and head for the hills!

Tango Mike Group Presents DX Super Sunday – 28th November 2010. Take to the hills or operate from home! The most important thing is being on your radio on this date so plenty of contacts can be made. If there is no propagation there is always great fun to be had working around the UK. Even under flat band conditions we have had some amazing contacts reported so give it a try.  You don’t need to be a “big gun” to work the DX as many of our members have proved over the past few years. If nothing else it gives you the oppotunity to warm up those output transistors and blow the dust off those radios! :)

Lifetime memberships are now available to the TM PO Box Service!

Tango Mike group is making some changes in the way that the PO Box service operates that will benefit many more members and hopefully encourage people to give the PO Box service a try for their DX activities. We suggest that you read through the following notes to understand how the changes can benefit you as a new or existing member.

For a reasonable one-off fee of just £7.00 you can now join the PO Box Service and this is all you need to pay. No annual fee, no redirection credits (subject to a fair use policy).

For existing members past and present, an automatic upgrade to lifetime membership is free of charge and you have already been changed over to the new service!

Tango Mike is pleased to announce that we have agreed a scheduled net on 27.535 MHz USB every Sunday between 18.30-21.30 UTC (19.30-22.30 BST) for all UK members. It’s a great opportunity to try and contact fellow members of the group, especially more so if you are mobile and plan to head off towards the hill tops like quite a number of our dedicated people! If you manage to make contact with anyone on the net frequency then please do post your comments under this article so we can see how successful you have been and what distances are achievable – particularly as we are mainly working flat band with the low conditions of the present time.
