Lifetime memberships are now available to the TM PO Box Service!

Tango Mike group is making some changes in the way that the PO Box service operates that will benefit many more members and hopefully encourage people to give the PO Box service a try for their DX activities. We suggest that you read through the following notes to understand how the changes can benefit you as a new or existing member.

For a reasonable one-off fee of just £7.00 you can now join the PO Box Service and this is all you need to pay. No annual fee, no redirection credits (subject to a fair use policy).

For existing members past and present, an automatic upgrade to lifetime membership is free of charge and you have already been changed over to the new service!

If you’ve been wanting to join a PO Box number for a while or simply put it off then there’s never been a better time to do this than now.

For full details please refer to the this page:

DX Super Sunday, 24th August 2008

Take to the hills again.. for Delboy Enterprises have announced another DX Super Sunday event. For those of you who haven’t tried this before it’s basically a chance to get out and about to the hill tops and work some long distance contacts. Even if there is little propagation on 11m during the day then chances are you will find UK stations to work. You don’t need to go mobile to enjoy DX Super Sunday but it helps. Simply listen on 27.555 MHz USB or 25 UK FM or EU FM Bands and see what you can find.

Don’t forget to post pictures and logs over at the Transmission1 forums when you get home on the bank holiday weekend! See you there!

East DX Event

Delboy from the Delboy Enterprises website has arranged another Easter DX event for 2008!

This is a two day event planned for 23rd/24th March 2008 for CB users around the UK. All DX groups are welcome to participate and even if there are no band conditions over the weekend many users at the previous events found they could make excellent groundwave contacts by taking to the hills.

It is suggested that legal FM users monitor Channel 25 on UK and EU bands and Freebanders should monitor the normal 27.555 MHz USB calling frequency.

Tango Mike members will be supporting this event around the UK and operates are encouraged to submit photos of the event for us to place in the gallery. We will upload the best photos to the website after the weekend. Mail your pictures through to pics@tangomike.net  – we want to see those big yagis on the hill tops!

If you’ve not been to Delboy’s website before it’s certainly worth checking out, especially the babes section!!

Listen out, stations are taking to the hills around the UK to see how many contacts they can make in the day.

If there is no propagation great fun can still be had with groundwave contacts. Give it a shot – some of the hardcore DX’ers even take beams and Sirio 827 verticals with them!

See you there!

Steve at Tonks Communications has contacted me to advise that he will be closing his ebay shop from August 24th for an extended 6 week holiday. Stocks are being cleared down. First come First served basis. Products from Astatic, Uniden, K40 and many other famous brands are available.

Many items can still be viewed at the Tonks comm ebay shop but you must email Steve direct at steve@risp.co.uk and mention Tango Mike/TM1 for the discounted price list (cheaper than Ebay pricing).

The Ebay shop can be seen at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/TONKS-COMMUNICATIONS

Steve is happy to accept Paypal on his items for speed of delivery. Just let him know that TM1 or Tango Mike sent you along.

This Sunday, 6th May 2007 many Tango Mike members will be taking to the hills across the UK attempting to make contact with CB users around the country and the world. This event was organised by the users on the Citizens Band Radio forum and particular thanks go to Paddy for the superb name! (We love DX Super Sunday!). As people will be on at various times of the day my advice is to simply tune in and give a few shouts. The Easter DX weekend was a real success even without large scale propagation some amazing groundwave contacts were possible with modest equipment. If you get chance listen out on your radio on 27.555 MHz USB or the FM side of 25 EU and UK bands – you’ll be surprised at how far you can get out! Please submit DX reports to Callum, 108-TM-742 for inclusion in the next monthly report .

Tango Mike is pleased to announce that we have agreed a scheduled net on 27.535 MHz USB every Sunday between 18.30-21.30 UTC (19.30-22.30 BST) for all UK members. It’s a great opportunity to try and contact fellow members of the group, especially more so if you are mobile and plan to head off towards the hill tops like quite a number of our dedicated people! If you manage to make contact with anyone on the net frequency then please do post your comments under this article so we can see how successful you have been and what distances are achievable – particularly as we are mainly working flat band with the low conditions of the present time.
